BETHLEHEM! OF NOBLEST CITIES

VERSE 1
Bethlehem! Of noblest cities,
None can once with thee compare;
Thou alone, the Lord from heaven,
Didst for us incarnate bear.

VERSE 2
Fairer than the sun at morning,
Was the star that told His birth;
To the lands their God announcing,
Hid beneath a form of earth.

VERSE 3
By its lambent beauty guided,
See, the eastern kings appear;
See them bend, their gifts to offer,
Gifts of incense, gold, and myrrh.

VERSE 4
Solemn things of mystic meaning!
Incense doth the God disclose;
Gold a royal Child proclaimeth;
Myrrh a future tomb foreshows.

VERSE 5
Holy Jesus, in thy brightness,
To the gentile world display’d,
With the Father and the Spirit,
Endless praise to thee be paid.

HOW GREAT IS YOUR NAME (PSALM 8) CHORUS How great is your name, O Lord our God Through all the earth! VERSE 1 Your majesty is praised above the heaven; on the lips of children and of babes you have found praise to foil your enemy, to silence the foe and the rebel. VERSE 2 When I see the heavens, the work of your hands, the moon and the stars which you arranged, what is man that you should keep him in mind mortal man that you care for him? VERSE 3 Yet you have made him little less than a god; gave him power over the works of your hand, put all things under his feet.
